Crony Socialism

You may have heard that the Obama Justice Department sued subprime home mortgage lender Countrywide Financial Corporation for “racial discrimination” and then settled for $335 million in damages which was supposed to go to victim home mortgage borrowers. What was not reported in the news was that Obama administration’s deal included a provision to give “leftover” settlement cash to “qualified groups” like the radical leftist groups ACORN and La Raza, just in time for these groups to participate in the Obama reelection campaign.

Obama teaching ACORN class

As discussed in Chapter 4 of my book Never Allow A Crisis To Go To Waste, when he ran his first campaign for Illinois state senate as the fusion candidate of both the Democratic Party and the socialist New Party, Barack Obama told a local Chicago paper that he saw politics as a way to use the power of the government to achieve the goals of community organizing, which would have included the work he was doing at various foundations funneling money to ACORN so they could turn around and use the money to support Mr. Obama’s various political campaigns.

President Obama has been as good as his word.

$335 in settlement? Did you mean $335 million? I was about to post this to FB when I spotted that. I really wish you who publish online would read your articles before you publish them.
